Join members of the Foothills REALTOR Association on Tuesday, October 13, at Isothermal Community College for a safety update.

This year's featured speaker is Chief Kevin Lovelace, a respected law enforcement professional with nearly four decades of experience serving Rutherford County.

Kevin began his career with the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office in 1987 before joining the Rutherfordton Police Department in 1990. For the past 15 years, he has served as Chief of Police, leading the department with dedication and a strong commitment to public safety.

In addition to his leadership role, Chief Lovelace is a certified Firearms Instructor, Hazardous Materials and Explosives Instructor, and Rapid Deployment Instructor specializing in response to mass violence incidents. His extensive training and real-world experience provide valuable insight into personal safety and crime prevention.

This year's program will focus on situational awareness—practical strategies to help you recognize potential threats, make informed decisions, and stay safe in everyday situations. Attendees are encouraged to bring their questions, as Chief Lovelace will also address general safety concerns during the program.
